RoHS is often referred to as the "lead-free" directive, but it also restricts the use of other substances such as mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE).

The use of lead free circuit assemblies in many electronic products will soon be a requirement by which all manufacturers must comply.

AOI and X-Ray Inspection

Continuing miniaturization of components and increasing complexity of boards is driving the need for AOI and X-Ray.  Texatronics utilizes AOI (Automated Optical Inspection), real-time X-ray, and endoscopy (ERSA Scope), as well as numerous visual inspection stations.
